MEMPHIS, TN – Regina Morrison Newman, Shelby County Trustee, is encouraging taxpayers to go paperless for their Shelby County property tax bills.
In this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, paperless bills are contactless, thus lessening the opportunity for exposure, and taxpayers can access their bill anytime they need it without having to keep up with a piece of paper or an envelope.
The deadline to sign up for eBilling for 2020 County tax bills is July 15th. When bills are issued, eBill recipients will receive theirs quickly and conveniently via email from Payit.
The Trustee’s Office began using Payit in December of 2017 and 20% of tax payments came through Payit last tax year. Also last year, the eBilling option was added.
“The owners of over 10,000 properties have already chosen to receive tax notices electronically and almost 82,000 taxpayers use Payit901 to pay County taxes,” said Regina Morrison Newman, Shelby County Trustee. “Payit901 and the choice of e-billing make our office more efficient and provide 21st century options to serve the citizens of Shelby County,” she said.
In late July, County tax bills will be available to view and pay on Payit901. The Trustee’s office continues to remain open every day during the pandemic to serve Shelby County.
