Shelby County Records Second Best Tax Sale

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Upon the close of the second online tax sale of 2017, Shelby County Government recorded its second best results to date, selling 90 properties and collecting more than $1.5 million in sales. In February, the county sold the most properties and generated the highest sales to date at over $1.6 million.

"The results of our tax sales continue to trend upward." said Shelby County Trustee David Lenoir and Clerk and Master Donna Russell. "The online process has opened up opportunities for competing bidders.”

The tax sale was held April 25-27, via, generating $1,542,575 in sales, the highest amount to date. Over 100 people placed bids to purchase tax titles for 90 of the 262 available properties. Over 50 percent of the winning bidders were from Tennessee and the highest bid in the auction was 1826 Miller Farms Rd., which sold for $169,858.
