Shelby county hosts First tax sale of 2017
Auction to be held online Feb. 21-23
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In the first tax sale of 2017, Shelby County Government is offering nearly 425 residential, commercial and vacant properties at www.CivicSource.com. The tax sale begins Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. and closes Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.
During the auction, the available properties are randomly grouped into four batches, with each batch having a different closing time. This will allow investors to redeploy unused capital throughout the sale.
“Since taking our tax sales online last year, we have seen a significant increase in bidders,” said Shelby County Trustee David C. Lenoir. “The online process has proven to be extremely efficient and user friendly for investors interested in tax sale properties.”
The opening bid for a property includes delinquent city and county taxes, accrued interest and penalty charges, court costs, attorney fees, as well as service and title costs. The sale is open to the public. Free registration and a list of available properties are available now at www.CivicSource.com.
